Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of staff in providing quality and efficient comprehensive portering, domestic cleaning, and site services across our hospital sites.
Main Responsibilities:- Supervise and support a team of staff to deliver high-quality patient environment services.
- Ensure compliance with National Cleaning Standards, departmental Standing Operational Procedures, and Trust Policies.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, colleagues, and members of the public.
- Communicate effectively with hospital staff, the public, patients, and colleagues across the Trust.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Arrange duty rotas and allocate holiday requests to meet service needs.
- Cover sickness and work within financial constraints set by management.
- Ensure correct usage of approved cleaning materials and COSHH data sheets.
- Review and audit work to ensure compliance with work schedules, national cleanliness standards, and Trust operational policies.
- Relevant NVQ 2 or equivalent experience or BICS qualification in cleaning sciences.
- Certificate in COSHH, Award in Risk Assessment, Gas safety awareness certificate, and Certificate in Health and Safety.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a busy environment.
- Relevant supervisory experience and knowledge of cleaning in a large setting or healthcare establishment.
- Knowledge of medical gas handling, customer care, and acute hospital environment.
- Ability to deal with information sensitively and confidentially, communicate effectively, and demonstrate problem-solving methods.
- Able to assess and communicate risks, demonstrate flexibility, and travel between Trust sites as required.
