About the Role

Compass is seeking highly skilled and experienced Supervising Practitioners to join our Mental Health Support Team. As a Supervising Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in shaping the expanding service with children, young people, families, and educational settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and the community.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with education settings to drive highly effective and CYPF-focused mental health and wellbeing services.
  • Work alongside colleagues to develop Compass Wave 12 MHSTs, focusing on building partnerships with education settings and driving highly effective and CYPF-focused mental health and wellbeing services.
  • Supervise and innovate with practitioners and colleagues in the service.

Requirements

  • Core professional and/or clinical qualification (EMHP, CWP, PMHW, nursing with specialism in mental health or learning disability nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work) and commitment to maintaining registration if applicable.
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision (EMHP supervisor course) or two years post-qualification experience of working therapeutically with children and young people and willingness to undertake a PG Certificate in Supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to form positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Leadership and ability to delegate and supervise staff.
  • Recognition and escalation of risk, contributing to control measures.
  • Planning workload, time management.
  • Work under pressure and able to manage changing priorities.
  • Understand need for evidence and statistical data collection, and achieving targets.
  • IT skills.
  • Team player and dynamic personality.
  • Multi-agency/disciplinary working.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to form positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Innovative practice and ability to influence others.
  • Positive attitude; flexible and adaptable; solution-focused; and tenacious.
  • Has a strong degree of personal integrity.
  • Ability to work all year round.
  • Due to the nature of the role, there is a need to travel to individual schools, which will require a driving license and access to a vehicle (for individuals who cannot drive due to a disability, we can consider accessibility options provided via Access to Work etc).
