Key Responsibilities

This role presents an exciting chance to contribute significantly to the leadership of a well-established multi-disciplinary team. As a Lead Nursing Professional, you will oversee the operational management of the ward and ensure the safe delivery of patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing patient care needs and developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans.
  • Setting care standards and supervising staff deployment.
  • Providing direct patient care as needed.
  • Acting as a deputy for the Clinical Service Manager, ensuring adequate staffing and service levels.
  • Collaborating with partner organizations to optimize the use of community resources.

Candidate Profile

Essential Experience

  • Significant post-registration experience, ideally at Band 6 or equivalent.
  • Experience working with older adults in various healthcare settings.
  • Proficiency in managing complex cases.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership capabilities.
  • Experience in multi-agency collaboration across service boundaries.

Desirable Experience

  • Evidence of successful change management initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of issues related to older adults and long-term health conditions.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Post-registration advanced clinical studies.
  • Qualification in teaching and assessment.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Non-medical prescribing qualification or willingness to pursue this.
  • Leadership or management qualification or willingness to undertake.
