About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our education team at Queenswood School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher and young people with their educational activities, while also promoting a positive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering educational activities to meet the needs of our young people.
  • Support the development of social, emotional, and mental health skills in our students.
  • Establish positive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other staff members to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience supporting in a classroom setting, preferably with learners and young adults with SEMH difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
  • A caring and compassionate approach, with a commitment to providing high-quality support to our young people.
  • Resilience and adaptability, with the ability to manage challenging situations and respond to changing needs.
