As the Lead Cyber Security Engineer, you will oversee the implementation and upkeep of Cyber Security solutions, controls, and processes throughout the organization. You will take charge of the Security Engineering service and lead a team of engineers to enhance and introduce new capabilities to the business.

Key Responsibilities as a Lead Cyber Security Engineer
  • Lead and manage a team of Cyber Engineers, ensuring effective day-to-day operations and tactical solutions.
  • Design and implement secure asset build and system hardening capabilities, ensuring robust compliance monitoring for our end-user computing and server environments.
  • Maintain security infrastructure, including Firewalls and Intrusion Detection/Intrusion Protection systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop cyber security engineering strategies and controls that align with organizational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive cyber security engineering documentation, policies, and procedures across all domains.
  • Establish long-term controls and processes to manage technical debt within acceptable risk levels.

  • Extensive experience in Security Engineering processes, control design, implementation, and management.
  • Knowledge of various operating systems and security strategies for diverse technology stacks.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platform configurations, such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
  • Experience securing large-scale server and endpoint deployments in complex infrastructure settings.
  • Proficiency with Privileged Access Management tools, including CyberArk, Firewalls, Active Directory, and Microsoft Azure, Sentinel & Defender.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in the water utility sector or large, complex infrastructure enterprises.
  • Security engineering-specific training and/or certifications.
  • A degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Competitive salary up to £88,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Annual Leave - 26 days of holiday per year, increasing to 30 with tenure (plus bank holidays).
