Emergency Care Practitioner Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Emergency Care Practitioner/Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ECP/ENP) to join our dynamic healthcare team at Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital. The role is full-time, working 37 hours per week.
Main Responsibilities- Exercising clinical judgement in identifying, assessing, and interpreting complex conditions, where a range of options require consideration for treatment and discharge planning for patients attending with minor complaints.
- Planning and organizing activities within the unit to meet demand and allocate staff to ensure clinical safety and efficient patient discharge.
- Ensuring all staff, including temporary staff and students, are aware of emergency procedures to follow.
- Leading others in the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of care for patients in the unit, in accordance with Trust ENP Guidelines and departmental protocols.
- Assisting in planning duty rotas to meet clinical area and unit needs, taking into account skill mix requirements.
- Maintaining a safe environment for patients, relatives, carers, and staff, with due regard to Risk Management policies and procedures.
- Being familiar with the Major Incident Policy and having the knowledge and skills to assist as directed within that plan, if necessary.
- Providing professional leadership and supervision to staff within own discipline and facilitating appropriate leadership for other disciplines.

Requirements- Accountable for the direct delivery of care to patients attending the Minor Injuries Unit.
- Responsible for ensuring high standards of nursing care, leading and participating in nursing and clinical audit, and collecting and collating information as required.
- Managing the Unit to record and monitor sickness, taking corrective action where necessary.
- Ensuring the application of local standards, policies, and philosophies that further the philosophy of patient-centered, individual, and evidence-based care for all patients.
- Ensuring evidence-based innovative practice in the delivery of nursing care and supporting others in implementing changes to improve care.
- Ensuring all medical and emergency equipment is kept in a safe condition, regularly checked, and ready for use when required, and that faulty equipment is reported and/or replaced as necessary.
- Developing an understanding of the delegated budget for the unit and participating in the procedure for ordering supplies within the agreed budget.
