Position: Agricultural Service Technician

Bennett and Game Recruitment is collaborating with a prominent firm in the agricultural services sector, actively seeking a skilled Agricultural Service Technician.

This organization specializes in delivering high-quality services in areas such as contracting, recycling, land drainage, earthworks, groundworks, and construction, boasting over 30 years of industry experience.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and servicing of various self-propelled machinery and agricultural equipment.

  • Conduct servicing, repairs, and maintenance on a diverse range of machinery, including large goods vehicles (LGVs).
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs.
  • Inspect machinery as required, ensuring that repairs are executed safely and in line with approved procedures.

Additionally, the technician will:

  • Carry out initial diagnostics on faulty equipment, identify underlying issues, and propose solutions, whether as temporary fixes or comprehensive repairs.
  • Work on and maintain a variety of agricultural machinery, including tractors and muck spreaders, as well as a fleet of vehicles.
Requirements:
  • Full clean driving license, including LGV Class 2 license.
  • Engineering trade qualification, ideally in mechanical engineering or welding.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in servicing agricultural machinery.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and make informed decisions when necessary.
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance.
Compensation:

Hourly Rate: £20.00, dependent on experience.

  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 17:00.
  • Company van provided.
  • Overtime available at a higher rate during peak seasons.
  • End-of-year discretionary bonus.

Benefits include private medical insurance and a 5% pension contribution.
