Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled GSE Mechanic to join our team at Menzies Aviation. As a GSE Mechanic, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient repair and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. Your expertise will ensure the reliability and performance of our fleet, enabling us to provide exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Inspection and Repair: Conduct thorough inspections of airport service vehicles to identify defective parts and make necessary repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including hydrating electric equipment according to schedule, repairing non-motorized equipment, and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
  • Tire and Wheel Repair: Repair and replace tires and wheels, ensuring the safe operation of our vehicles.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks on equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Accident Investigations: Investigate accidents involving airport service vehicles and report findings to supervisors and managers.
  • Communication: Respond to repair calls on the ramp and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience, preferably in the aviation industry.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Skills: Proficient in English, comfortable lifting/moving 70lbs, and available to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Tools and Equipment: Possess a set of basic tools, including wrenches, pliers, and screwdrivers, as well as specialized equipment for tire and wheel repair.
