About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Palliative Care Clinical Educator. As a key member of our education team, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering clinical education programs to support the care of patients with palliative care needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on the delivery of inter-professional education to ensure staff proficiency in caring for patients with palliative care needs.
  • Organize, develop, and lead the delivery of clinical training programs to meet the learning needs of the clinical workforce.
  • Maintain and develop clinical expertise to act as an expert resource to colleagues by guiding practice development and education delivery.
  • Work clinically with staff in the wards and departments to improve their assessment and management of palliative care patients.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Nurse for Cancer and Palliative Care and Clinical Educators to deliver inter-professional point of care teaching programs to enhance patient care to all disciplines of healthcare staff.

Person Specification

We are looking for a qualified and experienced clinical educator with a strong background in palliative care. The ideal candidate will have:

  • NMC registration
  • Certificate in education or equivalent teaching certificate
  • Mentor/Assessor Qualification
  • Relevant Professional Degree

Desirable qualifications include a leadership course and experience in delivering education, presentations, and group facilitation.
