Role Overview:
The Careers Education Lead at Exeter College will be a key figure in driving our careers guidance strategy, responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive annual programme of events and activities tailored to meet the needs of our students. This role will involve leading and supporting a team of careers advisors, fostering collaboration with staff, students, and external stakeholders, and overseeing the college's support for students' applications to Higher Education through the UCAS process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion and lead careers advice and guidance at Exeter College, ensuring that our students receive high-quality support and guidance to achieve their career goals.
- Develop and execute an inclusive annual careers programme, utilising the Gatsby Benchmarks and other intelligence to shape the college's careers strategy.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality assurance processes, maintaining the highest standards of careers guidance and education.
- Lead and coordinate a team of careers advisers, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality careers education and guidance.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues and external stakeholders, including employers and industry partners, to develop and maintain strong relationships and opportunities for our students.
- Oversee the college's support for learners' applications to Higher Education through the UCAS process, ensuring that our students receive the best possible support and guidance.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Proven experience in supporting careers advice and guidance, with a strong understanding of the Further Education sector.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and lead a team of careers advisers.
- Excellent communication, collaborative, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage and create digital content, with a creative approach to event planning and implementation of a programme of activities.
