Vacancy Information

We are seeking a temporary visiting specialist of Physical Education to provide PE provision. The successful candidate will have an interest in PE and be able to teach a designated subject in line with Curriculum for Excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned classes in line with Curriculum for Excellence.
  • Prepare lessons and courses.
  • Undertake development of the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the assessment and reporting on the work of pupils.
  • Contribute to the professional development of colleagues.
  • Consult with and assist colleagues on subject-specific education issues.
  • Participate in the organisation of the school to contribute to the school development.
  • Maintain good order and discipline among pupils and to safeguard their health and safety.
  • Advise and guide pupils on issues related to their education.
  • Work co-operatively as part of a team.

Working Arrangements

The successful candidate will be based at Cockenzie Primary School but will also be required to travel to St Gabriel's RC Primary School (Prestonpans). The working hours will be Tuesday (5 hours 25 minutes), Wednesday (5 hours 25 minutes) and Thursday (5 hours) at the designated schools.
