Job Title: Teacher of Physical Education

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teacher of Physical Education to join our team at St Thomas of Aquin's RC High School.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality physical education lessons to students, promoting a love of sport and physical activity, and contributing to the school's commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging physical education lessons to students of all ages and abilities
  • Assess and record student progress, providing feedback and guidance to support their development
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's physical education curriculum
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive school culture
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of school policies and procedures
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong passion for physical education and a commitment to promoting a love of sport and physical activity
  • Excellent teaching and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of all ages and abilities
  • Experience of working in a school setting, with a strong understanding of the Scottish curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a positive and flexible attitude
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
