About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at HMP Portland, a category C adult prison and YOI in Dorset. As a key member of our Facilities Maintenance Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine electrical maintenance tasks to ensure the safety and efficiency of our facilities
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance operations to minimize downtime and reduce the risk of equipment failure
  • Collaborate with colleagues from various trades to achieve common goals and objectives
  • Contribute to a culture of safety, inclusivity, and respect within our team
Requirements
  • Two years' experience working in a role as an electrician
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
  • Good working knowledge of planned preventive maintenance operations
  • Electrician qualified to C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
  • 17th or 18th Edition
  • Certificate in BS7671
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
