Azure Data Engineer Contract Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to join our team on a contractual basis. The successful candidate will work closely with our Data Architects, Visualisation Engineers, and Data Engineers to deliver and enable organisations to make data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with solution architects to break down and estimate packages of work and contribute to design documents and review process
  • Manage the delivery and evolution of data models
  • Collaborate with 3rd party developers and remote internal development teams to deliver robust solutions for data visualisations
  • Be the technical interface between data engineers, project management, and the business in the delivery of projects and incremental change
  • Deliver a suite of data models, building robust data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data storage systems
  • Troubleshoot issues related to data quality, report accuracy, or system performance

Requirements:

  • A university degree or equivalent IT experience
  • 5+ years of experience using Azure Data Factory
  • Solid understanding of SQL queries for retrieving and manipulating data from relational databases
  • Python experience is desirable
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methods and experience with Azure DevOps or JIRA
  • Solid understanding of database design principles and data modelling
  • Experience with modern dashboarding platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik would be advantageous

Contract Details:

6 month contract initially with a view to extend. Hybrid working arrangement, with onsite work once a week and WFH remainder of the week.
