Taylor Woodrow is seeking a skilled Site Engineer to join their team responsible for the construction and delivery of HS2's Old Oak Common station in North West London. This high-profile project involves the delivery of six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line.
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Package Manager and be responsible for ensuring that all works, including those of suppliers and subcontractors, are coordinated to deliver on safety, quality, and environmental objectives across their package.
Duties:
- Ensure all necessary permits are obtained and in place before commencing site work.
- Complete Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Check Sheets as soon as possible after completion.
- Conduct setting out and surveying tasks.
- Manage subcontractors effectively.
- Utilize document control to manage the distribution of information.
- Develop and approve relevant procedures specific to the area of works.
- Approve method statements and risk assessments, ensuring they are followed throughout the works.
- Liaise regularly with the client.
- Ensure Design Drawings are updated to reflect completed works as the works are finished.
- Liaise with other sections to manage any site clashes and ensure a smooth flow of work.
- Regularly review procedures to ensure they are as efficient as possible.
Person Specification:
- Degree or equivalent in civil engineering.
- Previous site engineering experience.
- Desirable experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures, or drainage.
