We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Manager to join our team at Biffa. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of our Traffic Office, ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of traffic dispatchers, drivers, and operatives to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Monitor and review depot KPIs, service, safety, and profitability to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with transport and environmental legislation, including third-party insurance claims.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
  • Ensure all aspects of health and safety are strictly adhered to, including near miss reporting and emergency procedures.
  • Review near miss reporting to ensure a first-class customer experience and completion of associated activities.
  • Complete all administrative tasks associated with the role, including worksheets and tachograph records.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in a similar role, preferably in the services or logistics industry. You will need to have a National CPC and experience of people and health and safety management in a unionized and multi-shift environment.
