Specialist Dental Nurse

Join Transformation Unit as a Specialist Dental Nurse and play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care to patients with complex needs.
About the RoleAs a Specialist Dental Nurse, you will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to provide tailored and compassionate care to patients with physical, mental, or medical challenges. Your expertise in dental nursing will be coupled with specialized knowledge and skills in managing patients with complex social and medical histories.
Key Responsibilities- Support the management of clinical sessions within the Special Care Dentistry Department, including the delivery of dental sedation.
- Provide high-level dental nursing care, with a focus on patients who require additional support and have complex social and medical histories.
- Act as the second appropriately trained person to monitor the clinical condition of the patient during and after conscious sedation.
- A Dental Nurse qualification that enables registration with the GDC, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing or equivalent.
- Registration as a Dental Nurse with the GDC.
- Post-qualification in Dental Sedation.
- Other post-qualifications, such as Oral Health Education or Special Care Dental Nursing.
- Demonstrable experience of working in GDP, Dental Hospital, CDS, or Armed forces.
- Significant experience in a wide range of dentistry and working within a Special Care Dentistry Department.
- Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams.
