About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join HM Treasury as a Policy Advisor - Digital Transformation. As a key member of the Science, Technology & Access to Finance (STAF) team, you will play a crucial role in advising on how the UK can make the most of the opportunities presented by digital technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to Briefings and Correspondence: You will work closely with the team to draft high-quality responses to briefing and correspondence requests, parliamentary questions, and Freedom of Information requests on a range of digital technology and tech sector issues.
  • Draft Advice on Digital Technology Policy and Spending: You will assess the evidence base and scrutinize the affordability and value for money of different proposals that support the growth of the tech sector in the UK and the contribution of technology adoption to wider productivity and growth across the country.
  • Tech Sector Stakeholder Engagement: You will support Ministerial visits, events, and international trips, providing advice on how Ministers should engage with the tech sector and briefings for these engagement opportunities.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter who can pick up new material quickly and is keen to learn about the policy area. You should be confident working with quantitative and qualitative data and able to use these analytical skills to assess policy problems, review business cases, and develop nuanced policy advice.
