Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Meldreth, Nr Royston, Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border

Salary: £12.78 per hour (£20, £22,834.95 actual salary), based on experience and qualifications

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide day-to-day care and support for children and young people with additional needs in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day care and support for children and young people in a residential setting, helping them with daily routines.
  • Assist individuals with PMLD, complex medical conditions, and autism in achieving their personal goals and promoting independence.
  • Foster an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment that values equality and respect.
  • Facilitate social and life skills development through activities and outings.
  • Help with personal care and be involved in physical interventions when necessary.
Requirements
  • Be compassionate and dedicated to helping children and young people with additional needs.
  • Be proactive, patient, and committed to overcoming challenges.
  • Enjoy working in a residential care setting and promoting emotional and social growth.
  • Be creative thinkers and flexible problem-solvers.
  • Be fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  • Have excellent communication skills, especially when working with young people with specific communication needs.
  • Hold a Level 2 qualification in Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Be eager to undertake further qualifications, fully funded by us.
