Senior Financial Accountant

Global Accounting Network is partnering with a business in the renewable energy sector to find a Senior Financial Accountant to help establish their new hub in Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the finance team in monthly and annual financial reporting, collaborating closely with internal and external auditors.
  • Assist with financial statements and statutory returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS.
  • Contribute to future accounting projects, such as finance systems implementation and improvement.
  • Provide technical accounting knowledge and advice on budgeting to the business.
  • Develop and write accounting papers for senior management.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to review and improve accounting systems and reconciliations, ensuring strong internal controls.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks to ensure the finance systems are secure and effective.
Main Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent).
  • External audit background highly desirable.
  • Experience in a financial accounting role, preparing statutory accounts under IFRS.
  • Experience with IFRS 16, leasing.
  • Natural leadership ability, with the desire to step into people management.
