Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Crew Manager (Control) at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, overseeing the response to emergency fire calls and leading a team of dedicated professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the answering of emergency '999' calls from the public and respond to stressful situations with a positive attitude.
  • Lead a team of firefighters and support staff in a pressurized environment, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve response times and emergency service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other emergency services and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance fire safety and emergency response.
Requirements:
  • Current employment as a Crew Manager (Control) or Watch Manager (Control) in a UK Fire and Rescue Service with no outstanding disciplinary or capability warnings.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to think and communicate quickly and clearly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a pressurized environment and respond to stressful situations.
