Ideal Candidate Profile:

The Cybersecurity division at State Street is in search of a Senior Security Solutions Architect. This team is dedicated to providing robust platforms, architectural frameworks, and tools that empower Cybersecurity professionals to make timely and informed decisions to safeguard State Street's digital assets. As a Senior Security Solutions Architect within the Security Architecture Governance Engineering (SAGE) team, your primary focus will be on evaluating security risks associated with internally developed applications, cloud infrastructures, and third-party solutions. You will play a crucial role in establishing reference architectures, defining security technical standards, and ensuring compliance across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability evaluations to identify security weaknesses and formulate mitigation strategies.
  • Execute security reviews of application architectures, documenting findings from risk assessments and recommending remediation measures.
  • Advocate for early security testing within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) by implementing checkpoints and ensuring security considerations are integrated into initial architectural designs.
  • Possess a solid understanding of identity federation protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, etc.).
  • Design and document reusable security reference architecture patterns.
  • Assist in the development of technical security standards, ensuring alignment and enforcement throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with Identity and Access Management (IAM) architects, Cloud Architects, Solution Architects, Security teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Enhance security controls on cloud environments and services.
  • Engage in regular security audits and compliance assessments.
  • Evaluate the security of vendor products, ensuring a shared responsibility model is established.
  • Guide teams through security governance processes.

Core Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of IAM technologies, Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR), User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA), and behavioral analytics platforms.
  • Practical experience with Active Directory in both on-premises and hybrid settings, including Azure Active Directory.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic and support tools utilized in a technical support environment.
  • Proven virtual leadership skills, with the ability to drive results, provide constructive feedback, and cultivate relationships with leaders and team members across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience in security engineering, particularly in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting, automation, security analytics, and attack path analysis tools.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and securing cloud-based solutions and services.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or AWS Certified Security - Specialty are advantageous.
  • Experience in designing and documenting application solution architectures.

Educational Background & Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in Cybersecurity, including Security Operations, penetration testing, security analytics, threat hunting, and/or security architecture.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field, accompanied by over three years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with security observability and identity threat monitoring in hybrid cloud settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead transformational security initiatives across the organization.
  • Knowledge of security testing and penetration testing methodologies, as well as security analytics tools and platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration and delivering results with strong ownership.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in security analytics, security research, offensive security, or advanced threat prevention teams.
