Exceptional Sous Chef Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at a prestigious Rosette Standard Dining Inn in a stunning location. This is a fantastic opportunity for a career-minded chef to work with high-quality produce, develop their skills, and progress within our group.

About the Role:

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen and ensuring exceptional food quality.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, maintaining high standards and consistency.
  • Lead a medium-sized team, motivating and developing junior chefs to achieve their full potential.
  • Contribute to menu planning, stock control, and kitchen management, ensuring efficient operations and cost control.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head Chef to achieve business objectives and drive growth.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in fresh food-led kitchens, with a strong background in hotel, gastro pub, or restaurant settings.
  • A track record of steady progression to Sous Chef, with longevity in roles and a keen eye for seasonal produce.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to enthuse and engage junior chefs.
  • Means of transport, as the location is semi-rural, although the Inn is commutable from York and Malton.
