Position Overview:
As a Construction Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our existing Investment Projects and Facilities Management Team. This position requires a dynamic individual who can adapt to various business needs and is expected to work flexibly across different locations.
Work Arrangement:
This role supports a hybrid working model, requiring a minimum of three days on-site engagement. You will oversee the coordination of design, procurement, and construction planning for a diverse array of facilities, both in the UK and internationally.
Project Scope:
Your responsibilities will encompass significant infrastructure enhancements, utility installations, building refurbishments, new construction projects, and airfield facilities. You will be integral to the bidding process, transitioning into design management upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Interpret client requirements to develop design specifications, implementation strategies, and financial proposals.
2. Coordinate and lead project teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure effective project delivery.
3. Guide the team through the necessary project stages and company approval processes to meet client and organizational objectives.
4. Apply technical expertise to ensure compliance with industry standards while optimizing costs.
5. Manage and resolve any design, construction, and safety issues throughout the project lifecycle, leveraging your technical and client liaison skills.
6. Oversee the prequalification, selection, and tendering processes for construction activities.
7. Monitor project implementation against established design, timelines, and quality benchmarks to achieve desired outcomes.
Health & Safety Management:
Ensure that all projects adhere to company and regulatory health and safety standards throughout their lifecycle.
Qualifications and Experience:
A degree in Construction, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related field is essential. Candidates with equivalent experience in similar disciplines will also be considered.
Demonstrated understanding of the RIBA Plan of Work and experience in implementing effective processes for timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven project delivery are crucial.
Extensive experience in managing construction projects and contractors in compliance with relevant regulations is required.
Strong supplier management and communication skills are essential, along with the flexibility to travel to various locations as needed.
Desirable Attributes:
A project management qualification and international construction experience would be advantageous.
Security Clearance:
This role necessitates full Security Clearance (SC) prior to commencing work. Candidates must be eligible for a BPSS check and hold British nationality due to access to sensitive materials.
