Opportunity Overview: Solar Project Support Specialist

NW Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking a dedicated Solar Project Support Specialist to enhance our client’s operational capabilities. This role is pivotal in facilitating the advancement of commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) initiatives, ensuring seamless collaboration between various operational and commercial teams.

The Solar Project Support Specialist will oversee the lifecycle of Commercial Solar PV projects, from initial assessment through to the transition to the operational project manager. Key responsibilities encompass tasks such as bid preparation, site evaluations, securing planning approvals, and managing procurement processes.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the ideal candidate will liaise with clients, subcontractors, and multiple departments to guarantee the effective execution of numerous Solar PV projects throughout the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in budget management, project initiation, and procurement activities across diverse projects.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure prompt delivery of necessary materials.
  • Organize site assessments and feasibility analyses.
  • Support Distribution Network Operator (DNO) applications and follow up as required.
  • Oversee the procurement workflow and supply chain management.
  • Facilitate project initiation and define the scope of work.
  • Compile project expenditure and uphold budgetary control.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on-site.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in a comparable position, particularly within solar energy projects.
  • Capability to recognize opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Experience in project coordination.
  • Exceptional organizational and process management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Environment:

Standard working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm and Friday from 8 am to 2 pm, with flexibility available.

We offer a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

Compensation: £30,000 - £40,000, plus performance-based bonuses.
