Barnardo's NI, through the Independent Guardian Service, is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join our regional Independent Guardian team.

The role of a Child Advocacy Specialist is rooted in the Human Trafficking and Exploitation Act and plays a vital part in safeguarding the rights of children and young people who may be victims of trafficking or exploitation.

This position is specifically targeted for our Western locality, and the successful candidate will primarily operate within the Western Health and Social Care Trust areas and Northern Health and Social Care Trust areas (though there may be occasions to work in other regions based on service requirements and capacity).

While this role is designated for the Western and Northern Health and Social Care Trust areas, a waiting list will be established for successful candidates who may be offered positions in other areas of the region.

Work Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary Range: £34,696 - £42,541 FTE

Employment Type: Fixed Term until 31 March 2025 (with potential for extension, subject to funding availability)

While the complete pay band and salary range are advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band – this ensures that pay increments are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contributions to excellence and alignment with our values and behaviors.
