We've won several Great Taste awards for our products, and our flagship product, Whitby Scampi, is a famous dish in pubs, restaurants, and kitchen tables throughout the country.

Role Description:

This full-time Shift Maintenance Engineer role requires on-site work in Whitby. The successful candidate will be responsible for equipment maintenance, both electrical and mechanical, as well as electrical and mechanical fault-finding and electrical installations.

The role is very hands-on and requires an individual who is happy to adopt a multi-skilled approach. Whilst the role has an electrical bias, you will be expected to be able to apply yourself to a wide range of multi-skilled engineering applications.

Holding appropriate engineering qualifications, including an apprenticeship in electrical maintenance, 18th Edition, and at least 12 months of practical engineering experience, you will be given the opportunity and support to take on responsibility from the outset and become an integral member of a friendly and supportive engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain electrical services and equipment up to 415V
  • Work with 3 phase distribution
  • Work as an individual or as part of a small team without direct authority
  • Maintain equipment in other relevant disciplines, e.g. mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic
  • Prioritize a busy workload, balancing planned maintenance, project work and installations with unplanned events such as breakdowns
  • Work in a food manufacturing environment

Requirements:

  • Electrically apprentice trained or qualifications to this effect
  • Computer literate
  • Holds City & Guilds 2391 and 2392 qualifications (training can be given)
  • Holds 18th Edition IEE certificate (training can be given)
  • Evidence of professional development and skills development
