Job Summary

Butler Rose, a leading public practice firm, is seeking a highly experienced and ideally CTA qualified Tax Manager to join their team. This newly created role will play a vital part in the continued expansion of the tax department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Tax Director to oversee a diverse client portfolio offering compliance, advisory, and tax planning services to corporate and personal clients.
  • Review and prepare personal tax returns for a portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, high net worth individuals, and trusts.
  • Prepare, review, and submit corporation tax returns and computations.
  • Advise individuals and companies on routine and ad-hoc tax matters.
  • Deal with HMRC enquiries into personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Assist on tax advisory projects for existing clients and prospects.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities within individual and corporate clients.
  • Support and review the work of more junior members of the tax team.

Requirements

  • Ideal CTA newly qualified or late stage studying with at least 3+ years' experience in a similar mixed personal and corporate tax role incorporating compliance, advisory, and planning working for a UK-based practice.
  • Strong technical tax knowledge, including capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and all business taxation aspects.
  • Ability to write letters explaining complicated planning issues as well as verbal communication skills.
