Plant Maintenance Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Bluebridge Industrial Estate in Halstead, Essex. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the Site Manager with the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) System to ensure all plant equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
  2. Plan and execute maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  4. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of plant equipment and processes to provide expert maintenance and repair services.
  5. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
  6. Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering, with experience in a related process industry.
  2. Experience in engineering, PLC controls, or electronics is an advantage.
  3. Hold a qualification or possess experience in materials handling, confined spaces, working at heights, and first aid.
  4. Be self-motivated, flexible, and a great team player with the ability to work independently.
  5. Experience of environmental, safety, and quality management systems is desirable.
  6. Experience of working with planned preventive maintenance systems is essential.
  7. A full UK driving licence is required, and the ability to operate a telehandler truck is essential.

  • A competitive salary of £40k - £44k per annum, dependent on experience, plus allowance, overtime, and bonus.
