Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Support Officer to join our Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Childrens Service team at Kent County Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Unit, taking a proactive role in its day-to-day functioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the business support in the centre/home to ensure the efficient transfer of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children from the care of Kent County Council to other local authorities under the National Transfer Scheme (NTS).
  • Deal with highly sensitive and confidential information, requiring excellent IT and problem-solving skills.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to professionals and members of the public via telephone, while working under pressure in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to improve the service and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and escalate complex issues.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively, with a strong attention to detail.
