About the Role

We are seeking a visionary and pioneering Children and Families Pastor to join our team at King's Cross Church (KXC). This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Families Stream and oversee the KXC Kids Ministry, working closely with our congregation and community to engage families and children with the good news of Jesus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all areas of Kids' Ministry from ages 0-11, including developing a dynamic and fun environment for children of different ages and backgrounds.
  • Identify, train, and nurture Kids team volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to serve children and families effectively.
  • Collaborate with the congregation and Worship pastors to develop all-age and children's worship, creating a culture of evangelism amongst kids and families.
  • Work with the Growing Hope team to integrate kids with additional needs and their families into the life of the church, providing pastoral support and care.
  • Oversee formation and discipleship amongst children and families, developing the 8-11's Bible study and nurturing faith in children.
  • Ensure the KXC safeguarding policy regarding children is being met, working closely with the Safeguarding Officer and Operations team.
About You

We are looking for someone with a proven ability to lead, cast vision, and create culture, with experience in teaching/leading groups of children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for reaching children and families outside of the KXC community, with excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with parents and volunteers effectively.

Desirable skills and experience include training and experience in good safeguarding practice, experience of pioneering new outreach projects for children and families, and experience of working with local schools.

Hours of Work

21-35 hours (3-5 days) per week, including Sundays and Tuesdays, some evenings and occasional Saturdays.
