About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Underwriter to join our team at Allied World Assurance Company Holdings. As a key member of our Commercial Division, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing our regional portfolio strategy, building strong relationships with our broking partners, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive business growth and profitability
  • Perform thorough account analysis, including risk management protocols and underwriting application/submissions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of underwriting processes
  • Authorize quotes, binders, and invoices in accordance with company guidelines
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date underwriting files
  • Attend industry conferences and seminars to stay up-to-date on market trends and best practices
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience underwriting commercial combined or property business
  • Excellent analytical skills and solid knowledge of pricing & actuarial models and methods
  • Highly articulate with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong marketing and business development capability
  • Highly computer literate with advanced proficiency in underwriting systems
  • Methodical approach to work with strong organization skills
