The Role: Technology Design Engineer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Technology Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Birmingham. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design and delivery of cutting-edge transportation technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of comprehensive technology design packages for highways projects, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and propose effective mitigation strategies to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to produce innovative intelligent transportation designs, utilizing 2D and 3D modeling software.
  • Provide ongoing design assurance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
  • Support through-life design enhancements, including retrofitting, refurbishment, and capability upgrades for existing infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in technology engineering, such as communications, electronics, or electrical engineering.
  • Extensive industry experience and a deep understanding of highways technology infrastructure, including Highways England standards and key stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of successful service delivery, operational design, and project management within the transportation sector.
  • A full UK driving license and willingness to travel for site visits and meetings.
