About the Role:

The primary responsibility involves the documentation and analysis of exposure data to effectively oversee designated portfolios.

Collaborate with underwriting professionals for the assigned portfolios to facilitate the quoting and aggregation services. Assist in the rollup processes to ensure uniformity across various regions. Provide training and support to junior analysts and the outsourcing team.

About the Department & Team:

The Exposure Management team plays a crucial role in:

Assisting underwriting teams with analytical modelling for informed business and risk decision-making. Aiding underwriting teams in managing and optimizing their portfolios within established risk limits. Recording and modelling exposure data with adequate detail and accuracy. Generating data to support portfolio rollup processes, LSM and Liberty Group reporting, and external reporting (including regulatory return data such as RDS, Lloyd's Catastrophe Model, and other supplementary information). Conducting post-event exposure and loss potential assessments. Producing necessary information for outward reinsurance placements. Creating data feeds for capital model catastrophe analysis. Developing internal management information reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Integrated Business Unit team to lead the quoting and cleansing service for your designated classes, supporting all rollups and reporting, as well as tailored underwriting analytics to evaluate new business opportunities. Utilize third-party modelling software (AIR) to assess risks on behalf of underwriters prior to binding. Maintain strong relationships with offshore modelling partners, addressing inquiries and providing ongoing support. Review third-party outputs, offering guidance and strategies for improvement as needed. Assist senior team members to ensure the accurate and timely completion of business-as-usual tasks focused on assigned classes. Support the senior team in recording and maintaining policy and exposure data in accumulation systems, ensuring data quality is monitored and enhanced. Lead training and knowledge transfer initiatives for Integrated Business Unit and outsourcing teams. Address queries from outsourcing partners regarding cleansing assumptions for aggregation and modelling, taking ownership of complex accounts as necessary. Provide validated modelled outputs for all required internal and external regulatory submissions, including but not limited to RDS, LCM, Aggregate Monitoring, Outwards RI submissions, ERM Reporting, and GAREAT/LFB reporting. Gain insights into classes modelled in various platforms and optimize the use of catastrophe models. Adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements, demonstrating behaviors aligned with the Conduct Risk Policy, which emphasizes placing customers at the forefront of our business and acting with integrity. Understanding and proactively complying with all regulatory and internal requirements is essential.

Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Natural Sciences, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Geography). Practical experience and familiarity with third-party catastrophe models and aggregation tools are essential. Proficient in advanced functions within Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of technical coding, including SQL, is essential (R, VBA, Python is desirable). Experience with data dashboard tools (e.g., PowerBI, Pyramid, Tableau) is advantageous. Familiarity with collaborating with offshore business partners is beneficial. Highly analytical with the capability to quickly and creatively process and interpret data. Organized and efficient, with a focus on continuous improvement. Ability to work independently while integrating into a time-sensitive business environment. Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences, and demonstrating creative problem-solving abilities.
