About the Role

The Asset Engineer will contribute to the efficient and effective management of Authority assets by optimizing the use of Asset Management process technology and best practice. This position will coordinate maintaining the Asset Management System for assets related to roads, drainage, footpaths, bridges, buildings, public open space, water supply, and sewerage.

This position will provide high-level support and leadership to our staff and stakeholders, ensuring a coordinated asset management process is achieved and maintained. The successful candidate is required to work collaboratively across the whole organization, ensuring a solid corporate understanding of infrastructure and operational needs and financial parameters.

The position is required to provide concise and effective information and reports that guide, influence, and assist the Authority's ability to make informed decisions in relation to its assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the maintenance of the Asset Management System for Authority assets
  • Provide high-level support and leadership to staff and stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively across the organization to ensure a solid corporate understanding of infrastructure and operational needs
  • Develop and maintain asset management plans
  • Prepare and present reports and submissions to inform decision-making
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering or equivalent relevant experience and knowledge
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar position
  • High level of computer literacy, including a detailed understanding of the workings of an Asset Management Information System
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to methodically problem solve
  • Eligible for registering in Professional Engineers Registration in Victoria
