Job Title: Part Time Team Lead

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Part Time Team Lead to join our team at Oakridge School. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and supporting a phase team, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a phase team, providing guidance and support to staff in planning, implementing schemes of work, and evaluating teaching to raise standards.
  2. Perform teaching standards to an exceptionally high level, setting a standard for other teachers to emulate.
  3. Lead a core subject or key area of school development, promoting best and innovative practice to enrich the range of teaching and learning styles in the school.
  4. Provide a good role model for pupils and staff, promoting a positive and thriving school culture.
  5. Monitor and develop the quality of education within the phase, conducting or joining in with learning walks to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  6. Work with the teachers to promote best practice, creating a stimulating learning environment for teaching and learning.
  7. Lead the annual Professional Development Cycle with the phase teachers, ensuring all staff have the opportunity to develop their skills and expertise.
  8. Check in on staff in their phase on an informal and supportive basis, ensuring they have the support they need to succeed.
  9. Ensure consistency across the phase by effective monitoring, reminding staff of deadlines, and ensuring deadlines are being met.
  10. Attend Wider Leadership Team meetings or 1:1 sessions with line manager when required, contributing to decision making and policy development across the school.
  11. Understand and support with, or lead, upcoming events involving the phase, promoting a strong safeguarding culture in the school.
  12. Facilitate a supportive and 'Working Together to Succeed' culture within the phase, sharing best practice and enabling all teachers to achieve expertise in planning and teaching.
  13. Lead phase meetings, communicating effectively to ensure continuity in teaching and learning, and that the progression of pupils' learning is maintained across the phase.
  14. Lead pupil progress meetings with year group teams, ensuring that planning, assessment, target setting, recording, and reporting systems for the phase are in-line with school policies.
  15. Organise curriculum meetings for parents at the beginning of the year, ensuring that all agreed information is sent out on time.
  16. Induct, support, and monitor new staff within the Phase, working with external sources to enhance own practice and the practice of other staff members.
  17. Communicate effectively with other staff members, ensuring that messages are clearly presented, and supporting the Headteacher and Core Leadership team in communications with staff.
  18. Manage break and lunchtime duties within the phase, providing high-quality feedback to teachers and disseminating examples of effective planning and teaching.
  19. Have a knowledge of the assessment outcomes of the phase, being an important part of the two-way communication between CLT and Phases.
  20. Understand and have good knowledge of the curriculum being taught within that phase and monitor its implementation within the phase, ensuring interventions are happening and the correct children are targeted within the phase.
  21. Lead and cover assemblies for phase if necessary, promoting a strong safeguarding culture in the school.
