The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Fortem Cares. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our capital works programme, working closely with our client, the Guinness Partnership.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting, providing critical support to the success and development of our business.
- Work in partnership with Operations Management, responsible for the line management of Assistant Quantity Surveyors and accountable for the development of the team.
- Maximise cash flow through monthly invoicing, implementing appropriate procedures to resolve client queries and ensuring cash is received when due.
- Monitor and analyse management information and job cost against job revenue, supporting data-driven decision making.
- Identify potential disputes in a timely manner and report to line manager.
- Ensure sub-contractor orders accurately reflect main contract requirements and scope of works.
Essential Criteria
- QS degree or equivalent training and relevant experience.
- Excellent numeracy and organisation skills.
- Use data interrogation skills.
- Excellent IT knowledge, including high-level Excel skills.
- Contractual awareness.
- Negotiating and communication skills.
- Line management experience and the development of people.
Desirable Criteria
- Working towards MCIOB or RICS membership.
