Cost Assurance Specialist

Mace is seeking a highly skilled Cost Assurance Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our cost and commercial assurance team, you will play a vital role in delivering cost and commercial assurance services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Support the review of contractors' systems, processes, and costs to provide a risk and compliance assessment.
- Assist in the delivery of cost management services to deliver key strategic outcomes and KPIs.
- Analysis and verification of cost data to identify patterns, themes, trends, and risks.
- Appraisal of cost capture and commercial management processes.
- Capture of process improvement opportunities.
- Interfacing and engagement with project staff, including finance staff, to complete cost verification, substantiation, and obtain key documentation/data.
- Support management of stakeholders and their expectations.
- Support the production of close-out reports.
- Mentoring junior staff.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering service excellence to clients.
- Experience in delivering cost and commercial assurance/audit activities.
- NEC Contract experience.
- Comfortable and experienced in analysing high volumes of data, primarily Excel-driven, ideally with experience of different cost systems.
- The ability to extract, interrogate, and assess large data sets to problem-solve and produce outputs that can be used in the decision-making process.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to challenges as they develop during the delivery stage.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with a variety of stakeholders with varying levels of seniority and engagement.
