Position Overview:
As a vital member of our culinary team, you will report directly to the Chef Manager and play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of food service. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Acting as the Chef Manager's deputy, overseeing all aspects of food preparation and service within the facility to ensure a premium dining experience.
- Leading and mentoring the catering staff during your shift.
- Upholding rigorous food safety and health & safety regulations.
- Minimizing food waste during meal preparation and ensuring proper use of kitchen equipment.
Essential Qualifications:
- Possession of an intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certification, such as Cater craft or an equivalent.
- Knowledge of health & safety laws, including COSHH and food safety standards.
- Demonstrated experience in culinary and personnel management.
- Basic understanding of dietary needs specific to the elderly population.
- Proficient in the safe operation of kitchen tools and equipment.
Key Skills:
- Strong negotiation and organizational abilities, with a talent for prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while executing established menus.
- Adaptable, creative, and able to collaborate as part of a team or work independently.
