About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to enhance our client's In-House legal department, primarily working remotely with occasional office visits. This role offers a remarkable opportunity for a seasoned Solicitor to take a pivotal position in overseeing and advising on public procurement and IT/technology agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Advisory: Deliver expert legal guidance and support concerning public sector contracts, including procurement and outsourcing agreements, as well as IT, technology, and AI contracts, alongside data protection matters.
  • Contract Management: Spearhead the evaluation, negotiation, and drafting of various commercial contracts.
  • Change Management: Develop and execute change management strategies to facilitate responses in other business areas influenced by legislative changes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and effectively managing their expectations.
  • Workload Management: Prioritize and oversee a diverse array of tasks, showcasing the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Candidate Specification:

  • Qualification: UK-qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with an In-House background.
  • Sector Experience: Ideally from the managed services, outsourcing, IT, technology, or telecommunications sectors.
  • Experience: A background in public sector contracts, including procurement, outsourcing, and IT & technology agreements, along with data protection is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong stakeholder management capabilities, a proactive approach to managing workloads, and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
