Electronics Assembly Technician / Product Support Technician (R&D)

CV Library is seeking a skilled Electronics Assembly Technician / Product Support Technician (R&D) to join their team in Newport, South Wales. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work independently on projects with minimal supervision, utilizing strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  2. Assemble and test prototype production products, ensuring high-quality results and meeting production deadlines.
  3. Read and interpret complex electronic schematics, soldering components to a high standard and crimping harness assemblies.
  4. Assemble and test current production products, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise.
  5. Provide support for in-field upgrades and repairs, which may involve foreign travel.
  6. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of electronic systems, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  7. Collaborate with the team to drive innovation and improvement, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Requirements:
  1. Hands-on experience assembling, testing, and repairing electronic prototypes to component level.
  2. Experience with RF (Radio frequency) would be advantageous.
  3. Research and Development experience is desirable, but not essential.
  4. Hands-on experience with hand tools and programmable logic controllers.
  5. Strong electronic knowledge and understanding of electronic systems.
  6. Ability to work effectively with power tools and maintain a safe working environment.
  7. Prior experience in assembly processes and attention to detail.
  8. Certification in electrical or electronic assembly is a plus.
