Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Assessor to join our team at National Skills Agency. As an Assessor, you will be responsible for visiting workplaces to assess apprentices studying the Engineering Apprenticeship Standard. You will need to have a background in machining, maintenance, and manufacturing up to Level 4, and experience in the IQA process or internal verification qualification is an advantage.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and monitoring of candidates on engineering apprenticeships
  • Complete administrative work connected with assessments and apprenticeships
  • Keep and maintain accurate records of all forms of assessments
  • Provide prompt and constructive feedback to candidates
  • Ensure assessment strategies used are inclusive
  • Embrace new technologies and update learning materials
  • Contribute to teaching theoretical and practical workshop sessions
  • Contribute to the development, marketing, and recruitment of courses

General Duties:

  • Teach or assess on one or more of the courses provided by the company
  • Contribute to the development of existing and new provision
  • Implement flexible and cost-effective teaching and learning styles
  • Develop and implement student assessment strategies
  • Adopt a consistent approach in dealing with student discipline
  • Ensure a safe working environment
  • Participate in professional development
  • Assume tutorial and pastoral responsibilities
  • Represent the team on committees and working parties

Requirements:

  • Assessor Award qualification
  • Background in machining, maintenance, and manufacturing up to Level 4
  • Experience in the IQA process or internal verification qualification
  • Ability to work safely and consider the safety of others
