About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our Maintenance Group at our Billingham Manufacturing site in the UK. As an Instrumentation Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Compliance
    • Carry out maintenance tasks in accordance with company and statutory standards, including environmental, health, and safety regulations.
    • Comply with PPE requirements, permits, and isolation procedures.
  • Maintenance Execution
    • Assemble, install, remove, and replace instrumentation systems and their associated components.
    • Test functionality and operability of instrumentation systems.
    • Perform fault finding and repairs on instrumentation systems.
    • Raise and complete Work Orders and update databases as required.
    • Request materials for routine work execution.
    • Inspect and record-keep as part of a preventive maintenance program.
    • Assist in the upkeep of plant drawings and documentation.
    • Participate in training to enhance skills and meet company competency requirements.
    • Review and help maintain Technical Data and manuals.
  • Turnarounds and Events
    • Carry out turnaround maintenance tasks safely, on schedule, and according to work packs, company standards, and good practice.
    • Execute tasks associated with the shutdown Tech Team as required.
Requirements
  • Experience
    • Locate and identify faults in a timely manner to restore plant and equipment to acceptable conditions.
    • Have a good knowledge of and ability to effectively use a wide range of test and measuring equipment.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Knowledge and understanding of legislative requirements in a COMAH top-tier site.
    • Detailed understanding of instrument control systems, including pressure, temperature, level, flow, analysis equipment, and machine instrumentation systems.
    • Sound understanding of process plant and computerized maintenance management systems.
    • Proficient user of MS Office suite and well-developed written and oral communication skills.
