Position Overview

Governance Coordinator (part time)

Role Summary

The primary objective of this position is to oversee and manage all functions, policies, and documentation associated with the governance of the organization.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Serving as the main point of contact for all governance-related initiatives, while providing guidance and support to staff on these issues.
  2. Assisting in the formulation of the governance framework (Council and Committees), as well as coordinating Council and Committee logistics and record-keeping.
  3. Administering processes for non-executive statutory and non-statutory appointments, including re-appointments.
  4. Staying informed about principles and best practices regarding equality, diversity, and inclusion, and applying these comprehensively to governance-related activities and documentation.

Key Information

  • This is a part-time, permanent position.
  • Work hours can be distributed over 3, 4, or 5 days.
  • Starting salary is £27,699 per annum (full-time equivalent is £46,265).
  • Primarily remote work, with occasional travel required.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The organization is looking for an individual with strong administrative skills and a keen eye for detail, particularly regarding quality and accuracy. Success in this role requires excellent communication abilities and the capacity to foster and maintain robust relationships with staff and governance structures, along with flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.

This position is suitable for you if you:


Have experience in a similar governance framework and a comprehensive understanding of governance operations and terminology;


• Are knowledgeable about equality, diversity, and inclusion laws, principles, and best practices, with practical experience in applying these to governance activities and documentation;


• Have participated in inter-regulatory governance groups and engaged in discussions regarding necessary actions;


• Are accustomed to maintaining appropriate boundaries between Executive and Non-executive roles;


• Possess proven skills in high-quality committee and working group administration, including scheduling meetings, taking minutes, following up, and supporting others in completing action items.
