Stock Controller Job Description

A leading manufacturing business in Bredbury is seeking a dedicated Stock Controller to join their dynamic team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a Stock Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of the business, making you an invaluable asset to the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage all elements of stock within the production environment, ensuring accurate and efficient stock management.
  2. Ensure all stock is accounted for and correctly entered into the system, maintaining accurate records and minimizing errors.
  3. Take responsibility for inbound deliveries and checking stock against delivery notes, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of stock.
  4. Manage stock locations and ensure stock management is maintained, optimizing storage and retrieval processes.
  5. Challenge poor stock control within the production teams, promoting best practices and improving overall stock management.
  6. Prepare all components for works orders in advance of production, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of stock.
  7. Book in all completed works orders, checking against the WOP and ensuring accurate stock levels.
  8. Take full responsibility for all stock components, and their usage, within the production area, ensuring efficient and effective stock management.
Requirements:
  1. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Warehouse or Production Administrator and be keen to develop into a Stock Controller, with a strong foundation of skills and knowledge.
  2. Strong software skills with a good knowledge of Excel is essential, as you will be confident to multitask and manage and update stock levels efficiently.
  3. Must have excellent attention to detail and be able to maintain accurate records, with a strong focus on quality and precision.
  4. Previous experience within a manufacturing/production environment would be an advantage, with a good understanding of stock management processes and procedures.
  5. Able to work well in a supportive and collaborative team that values hard work and dedication, with a strong focus on teamwork and communication.
