Portfolio Management Opportunity

Apollo Global Management, Inc. is seeking a skilled Portfolio Management Specialist to join our Asset Liability Management (ALM) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the ALM portfolio management activity, trade idea generation, structuring, risk monitoring, and building infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support day-to-day portfolio management activity, including sizing and implementation of cash and derivative trades, portfolio optimization, P&L calculation, and trading limit control.
  • Strengthen trading, execution, and reporting processes, including the development of advanced risk analytics tools.
  • Identify market opportunities and build market analytics, contributing detailed market updates to internal and external clients and initiating capital-generating trading for insurance businesses.
  • Provide analysis and presentation of new trading strategies within an insurance context, including scenario, sensitivity, or simulation in given Solvency and accounting frameworks.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience on a trading desk or portfolio management team at an investment bank or investment management firm.
  • Excellent analytical skills, rigorous, and detailed-oriented.
  • Technically proficient in at least one asset class and portfolio management analytics, with the ability to produce analysis independently.
  • Technically proficient in VBA and/or Python.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt, with the ability to deliver across a wide range of topics in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of insurance-specific asset management tenets (ALM and capital management).
  • Academic background in finance, mathematics, physics, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree from a top-tier engineering or business school with specialization in finance or mathematics.
