This role is based in London and involves overseeing various projects, necessitating travel to different sites, including areas beyond the M25.

As part of a specialized team focusing on M&E components, you will be responsible for addressing client concerns, conducting thorough investigations, and liaising with multiple stakeholders. This includes sourcing new contractors, managing tender processes, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations, and coordinating various trades on-site. Your contributions will be crucial in maintaining operational efficiency within live and occupied buildings, while also minimizing costs and safeguarding the company's interests. Your insights may also play a role in the stage 3 RIBA process, influencing future project designs.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction site/FM within the MEP sector
  • Demonstrated expertise in Electrical/Mechanical disciplines
  • Familiarity with BMS systems
  • Experience in commissioning processes
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, supporting project managers and various departments as needed
  • Relevant qualifications such as ONC/HNC or a degree in an engineering discipline

Job Purpose and Scope:

Your primary responsibility will be to ascertain whether reported defects stem from construction or design issues. This will involve searching project archives and conducting site inspections. You will work closely with production teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of the original design intent and oversee all necessary rectification activities from design through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the organization's commitment to achieving excellence from the outset
  • Reviewing and approving documentation for transfer to the Post Completion Department
  • Conducting detailed As-Built design evaluations
  • Ensuring pre-handover meetings are organized with site teams, emphasizing the importance of submitted documentation
  • Assessing the performance of Production Teams and Sub-Contractors
  • Managing contractual matters and Warranty Management during Defects Liability Periods
  • Investigating the causes and remedies for defects reported through official channels
  • Procurement and management of Sub-Contractors
  • Overseeing Health & Safety on-site, reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements, and identifying the need for additional support for high-risk activities
  • Preparing purchase orders, work orders, and related documentation in collaboration with the PCD Quantity Surveyor
  • Monitoring and reporting on the status of work programs, costs, and subcontractor performance
  • Ensuring quality standards are met for all PCD works
  • Providing feedback to Quality and Production Departments to mitigate future defects
  • Compiling Final Accounts for all Sub-Contract Works
  • Issuing Quality Alerts and Bulletins regarding investigated issues, their causes, corrections, and lessons learned
