Assistant Plant Operator Job Description

Astute People is partnering with a leading Energy and Waste Management Company to recruit an Assistant Plant Operator for their modern Energy from Waste Power Station in Belvedere, Kent.

The site processes up to 850,000 tonnes of waste per year, generating enough power for nearly 200,000 homes. With a new site under construction, capable of processing up to 650,000 tonnes of waste per year, this is an exciting opportunity to join the largest Energy from Waste plants in the Country.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and conduct plant checks to ensure optimum performance.
  • Assist in reaching daily production targets as defined by site management.
  • Assist with loading and unloading operations.
  • Operate mobile plant and machinery.

This role will be working on a 24/7 shift pattern with 12 hour shifts.

Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Mobile plant tickets are highly advantageous.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a heavy process engineering environment, such as Power (EfW, Biomass, Coal, CCGT, etc), Pharmaceutical, Refinery, Steel Production, etc.
