Job OverviewWe are seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our team in Lutterworth. This role will play a crucial part in enhancing forecasting accuracy for both operational efficiency and improved customer service across our nationwide network of field engineers. You will leverage your expertise to drive data-driven decisions, optimize warehouse operations, and contribute to the overall success of our supply chain.
Responsibilities- Analyze internal and external data to understand demand patterns for field requirements and returns.
- Explore and implement AI and machine learning techniques to transform logistical and warehousing processes.
- Develop insightful reports to measure the effectiveness of supply chain and warehouse procedures, providing valuable feedback to operations teams.
- Generate regular reporting streams for business reviews and create ad-hoc reports as needed.
- Collaborate closely with business leaders to understand their needs and identify opportunities where data can drive better decision-making.
- Participate in monthly Account Review Meetings, presenting updates on current and completed initiatives.
- Minimum A-Level qualification or equivalent.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to manage data effectively.
- Experience with a range of data management tools.
- Knowledge of the supply chain and logistics industry.
- Proven experience in extracting data from Warehouse Management Systems.
- Demonstrated ability to create and automate detailed, granular, and comprehensive forecasts.
- Enthusiasm for driving positive change within an organization.
- Passion for AI and machine learning with the skills to implement these technologies effectively.
- Project management skills.
- Understanding of logistics/warehouse fulfillment operations is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience utilizing complex datasets to guide business strategy in previous roles.
- Proven ability to produce complex forecasts through in-depth analysis.
- Demonstrated skill in communicating data insights effectively to diverse stakeholders.
- Prior experience with machine learning and AI is highly beneficial.
