Key Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one and group support to students, addressing emotional, social, and behavioural challenges.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student attendance, engagement, and overall well-being.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create tailored support plans for students.
- Assist in the delivery of personal development programs, including mental health awareness, anti-bullying initiatives, and life skills.
- Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records of interventions and outcomes.
- Support the safeguarding team in identifying and managing child protection issues, ensuring the safety and welfare of all students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school environment, promoting respect and understanding among students.
- Previous experience in a pastoral or support role within an educational setting is highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Empathy, patience, and resilience, with a passion for supporting young people.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, managing a varied workload with a calm and professional approach.
- A relevant qualification in education, youth work, or social work is an advantage.
- Enhanced DBS check and on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) is essential.
